Sun-Dried 5.5–6″ Natural Cuttlebones for Parakeets & Small Birds
Product description
100% NATURAL, WHOLE CUTTLEBONE — Not compressed blocks or manufactured fillers: these are genuine cuttlebones, preserving natural calcium carbonate and the shell’s original texture that birds instinctively accept. They contain naturally occurring trace minerals such as magnesium, potassium and zinc.
ENCOURAGES CHEWING AND BEAK MAINTENANCE — Provides a durable surface for birds to gnaw, helping control beak length and shape while delivering a steady source of minerals. Suitable for a variety of species and also useful for tortoises and snails that benefit from calcium supplementation.
SUN-DRIED IN VIETNAM, LIGHTLY PROCESSED — Harvested and dried under sun to keep the cuttlebone’s structure and mineral content intact with minimal artificial treatment.
PROTECTIVE PACKAGING FOR TRANSIT — Individual pieces are wrapped and packed to reduce the chance of breakage in shipping so more arrive in good condition.
CONSISTENT SIZE AND SIMPLE MOUNTING — Selected for uniform 5.5–6" sizing. Each piece is supplied with a basic holder to secure it in a cage; the holder makes installation quick and straightforward.
MULTI-SPECIES USE — Sized and prepared for parakeets, budgies, cockatiels, finches and canaries, and also commonly used for other small animals needing extra calcium.

Too narrow and low quality for me
The four pieces I received were all thin and narrow, not what I expected. Quality seemed poor. I’ll try a different source next time.

My cockatiels wouldn’t use this brand
Normally my three cockatiels love cuttlebones but they refused these. I swapped in my usual brand and they went for that immediately. Not sure if it’s the product or picky birds, but it didn’t work for us.

Will reorder — turtles love them
I was impressed opening the box — larger and thicker than I feared. My yellow slider turtles munch on them and their shells benefit. They don’t make the water too messy. Highly satisfied.

Genuinely real cuttlebone — durable for snails
Bought these for my snails and they are real cuttlebone, not imitation. They last a long time, help keep shells strong, and haven’t broken in the package. I split one myself to share between enclosures and it held up well.

Big, sturdy pieces — great for a larger parrot
These are much larger than the tiny ones I usually find. My large parrot enjoys them and they last longer than the small store versions that crumble away. They should help with calcium intake and beak wear. The metal holder that comes with it is thin and a bit short for these pieces, so I use zip ties to fasten them securely. If your pet chews everything, consider stronger fasteners.

Excellent size but only one holder included
The cuttlebones are impressively big and solid. Problem is the package includes just a single small holder that won’t secure the larger pieces. I ended up clamping them with chip clips which worked fine, but a holder per bone would be more sensible, especially for owners with multiple cages.
