LACHOI 5.9in Digital Magnetic Hot Plate Stirrer (5L, 300°C)
Product description
Performance and capacity: This digital magnetic stirrer supports speeds from 100 up to 1600 RPM with an accuracy of about ±10 RPM and is rated to stir volumes up to 5 liters, suitable for both low‑viscosity liquids and mixed samples. The speed dial gives responsive control over rotation for delicate or vigorous mixing needs.
Heating and construction: The top plate measures 5.9 × 5.9 inches and is a die‑cast aluminum surface finished with a ceramic coating to resist corrosion, scratches, and high‑temperature wear. The heater is 550W and the plate can reach temperatures up to 300°C, enabling combined heating and stirring without switching devices. The unit is designed to deliver efficient heat transfer to vessels placed on the plate.
Programmable features: Time runs from 1 minute up to 99 hours 59 minutes and you can save up to six custom programs. The controller supports forward and reverse rotation with a pause during direction changes and includes a soft‑start option for gradual acceleration. The device stores the last used parameters for quick repetition outside of program mode.
Temperature control and sensing: A dedicated temperature probe and a fuzzy‑logic microprocessor manage plate and solution temperatures. Plate readings are accurate to around ±3°C and solution temperature accuracy is approximately ±0.5°C, with the controller responding in real time to maintain targets suitable for sample prep, solvent heating, and QC tasks.
User interface and build: The large LCD displays speed, time, and temperature simultaneously. A brushless DC motor provides smooth rotation with minimal maintenance. The unit’s compact footprint (about 7.1 × 10.6 × 3.3 inches, excluding plate height) conserves bench space while providing reliable daily performance for teaching labs, industrial testing, and general research.
What's included: The package includes the magnetic stirrer hot plate, a support stand with adjustable slots, a temperature probe sensor, and at least one PTFE‑coated stir bar for immediate use.
Pros
- Wide speed range with precise control
- Combined heating (550W to 300°C) and stirring
- Programmable timers and memory for repeat tests
Cons
- Main power toggle can feel flimsy
- Manual and on‑unit guidance are sparse
- No automatic thermal cut described for sudden power cycles
VerdictA versatile benchtop unit that pairs precise stirring (100–1600 RPM, ±10 RPM) with powerful heating (550W, plate to 300°C). It offers program memory, an LCD readout, temperature sensing with tight control and a compact footprint — a good choice for routine lab mixing and heating where repeatable results matter.

Translation Oddity, But Effective in Use
The listing had a funny translation calling it for “Physical Education,” but functionally this is a capable hot plate stirrer. The 5.9in plate fits many flasks, stirring is even, and having heat plus agitation in one unit keeps the bench less cluttered. It’s ideal when you want consistent mixing over long periods.

Read the Manual; Thoughtful Design Details
There’s a learning curve if you’re new to hot plate stirrers, so read the manual. Controls work well once familiar. I like the raised plate edges that help keep spills from draining into the chassis and the adjustable stand slots for the probe and stirrer — both handy on messy runs.

Solid Performance, Quirky Power Switch
Accurate speed and temp control. I’ve run long sessions with no failures, but the main toggle feels cheap and sometimes needs a nudge to engage — once it’s set, it works fine.

Start by Holding the Knob for Three Seconds
Good unit but the quick‑start info is missing. Put the stir bar in the vessel, place the vessel on the plate, power on, select the blinking parameter with the knob, set temp/time/RPM, then press and hold the knob ~3 seconds to begin. Plate warms up very fast — handle with care.

Performs Well
Simple, reliable, and does the job.

Caution: Heating Behavior
Be careful — the plate can become very hot quickly. I didn’t see an automatic thermal shutdown when power was cycled, so treat it as a high‑temperature surface.
