40in Upholstery Dust-Cover Underlining Fabric (Cambric)
Product description
Restore a clean, completed look to furniture undersides with a traditional cambric dust cover. This roll is intended to recreate the finished appearance found on new pieces, making inspection and presentation much more professional when the furniture is moved or serviced.
This fabric is commonly applied to the bottoms of upholstered items and mattress foundations, and it also works well as a soft backing for headboards to help shield walls from scuffs. It’s a versatile underlining material for repair and finishing tasks.
Each unit is 40 inches wide and comes in a 3-yard length — ample for covering the bottom of most sofas and chairs and the perfect fit for a twin box spring. For king-sized setups that use two twin foundations, plan to use two rolls to cover both bases.
Manufactured from non-woven 100% polypropylene, the material weighs about 1.2 ounces per square yard. That construction offers a little stretch to pull tight for a smooth, tailored finish while remaining durable enough to resist tears during handling and moving.
The fabric cuts cleanly with scissors and fastens easily with common upholstery or heavy-duty staplers, so you can repair a torn dust cover yourself instead of replacing the entire piece of furniture. It’s a simple option to extend the life and appearance of sofas, chairs, ottomans, and box springs.

- Durable non-woven polypropylene construction
- Easy to cut and staple for a tidy finish
Cons
- One roll may not cover king-size foundations

VerdictThis extra-wide dust-cover fabric is a practical, no-fuss solution for repairing or finishing the bottoms of sofas, chairs, and mattress foundations. The non-woven polypropylene construction provides durability and a slight give for smooth stapling, while the 40-inch width and 3-yard length cover most single box springs or many chair bases. It’s straightforward to cut and attach, gives a factory-l
