Whitman Lincoln Cent Album (1909–1995) — 252-Port Collector Album
Product description
What’s included: Whitman Lincoln Cent Album, Volume 1 (covers 1909–1995) with 252 ports arranged on seven removable pages. The pages are secured in a sturdy blue leatherette two-post binder that keeps leaves flat and in order.
Design and protection: Each opening has a clear window with a finger notch for easy removal and replacement, so both obverse and reverse faces can be seen while coins remain supported. Ports are individually labeled with year and mint mark; a table of mintage figures is printed inside the back cover. Materials are archival-grade and resistant to soil and discoloration to help preserve coin surfaces over time.
Coin context and sizes: Lincoln cents have gone through design and composition shifts since 1909. The reverse designs moved from Wheat Ears to the current Shield motif, and composition stages include primarily copper strikes from 1909–1942 and 1944–1982, zinc-coated steel (and a few bronze/silver varieties) in 1943, and copper-plated zinc from 1982 to present. Modern Lincoln cents measure 19 mm in diameter. Mass varied by composition: early copper cents were about 3.11 grams, 1943 steel cents around 2.70 grams, and contemporary copper-plated zinc pieces are approximately 2.50 grams.
Pros
- 252 clearly labeled coin positions
- Archival-grade, soil-resistant materials
- Clear finger-notch windows show both sides
Cons
- Only covers 1909–1995 timeframe
- Not as flashy as Whitman’s premium Prestige line
- Seven pages may leave extra, unused slots for some collectors
VerdictA solid, archival-quality album for serious penny collectors. It provides 252 dated and mint-marked positions, a durable blue two-post binder, and clear windows that let you examine both sides without removing coins. Good value for organizing and protecting a Lincoln cent run.

The clear inserts pull out easily and do a fine job protecting and storing coins in the album.

Solid album — consider the upgrade
A very good coin album. If budget allows, the Prestige edition offers extra visual impact, but this does the job well.

Exactly what I needed for my wheat cents
This was my second album purchase. The first from another maker proved awkward to use, so I switched to this one and it fits my wheat cent set perfectly. Attractive and functions without issues.

Top-tier coin books
I like the way the plastic slides separate coins so both sides can be seen; excellent format for collectors.

High-end feel
These albums cost more but look and feel premium. I bought dated volumes, blank albums and spare pages — perfect size, durable and professional.

Sturdy pages; clear windows
Pages are robust and the plastic windows are clear. I only wanted 1909–1958, so I ended up with several unused positions.
