CRBN TruFoam Barrage 4 Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddle — Hybrid AeroCurve
Product description
Engineered for competitive players, the TruFoam Barrage 4 pairs a raw T700 carbon fiber hitting surface with a 100% foam floating core to produce a responsive, high-energy paddle. The textured carbon face is intended to increase spin generation for topspin, slice, and sharper serves while maintaining repeatable contact.
The full foam floating core boosts power transfer and stability while enlarging the effective sweet spot and reducing unwanted vibration on impact. The paddle measures approximately 14 mm in thickness and is tuned to deliver both punchy drives and controlled resets.
CRBN’s Hybrid AeroCurve profile optimizes aerodynamics for fast hand speed at the kitchen line while preserving reach for passing shots and defensive saves. The overall weight distribution and shape are designed to support quick reactions during rapid exchanges.
Each paddle ships with a neoprene paddle cover for storage and transport. The TruFoam Barrage 4 is approved for tournament play under USAP (+PBCoR 43) and UPA-A standards, making it suitable for high-level matches where spin, control, and power are demanded.

Overpriced for my taste
Doesn’t justify its cost for me and the return policy is frustrating.

Needs about 5–6 hours to settle
At first I struggled—dinks and drives felt awkward compared to my Selkirk Power Luxx. After roughly five hours the paddle opened up: drops became more consistent, hand battles improved, and accuracy jumped. You must adapt your stroke to shape the ball more with the paddle; once it breaks in, the foam and grit work together nicely. Recommend patience before judging it.

Power and control — truly versatile
This paddle delivers solid power while keeping fine control, making it adaptable across drives, resets, and net play. The feel is consistent, spin is strong, and build quality is high. A reliable all-around choice for players who want one paddle to handle everything.

Good build but pricey
Nice paddle but on the expensive side. If priced closer to $200 it would be a stronger value versus many durable $100 options now available.

Solid second CRBN
This is my second CRBN and I’m happy with it. I wanted more control than raw power, and the transition from my previous paddle was straightforward. Easy to get used to and performs well.

Top performer in CRBN’s range
I’ve used several CRBN paddles and the Barrage 4 stands out for balance and refinement. It shines in quick exchanges and kitchen resets, offering a notable boost in finishing power without giving up the soft touch I expect. The sweet spot feels more forgiving, and the paddle stays stable in fast rallies. Spin generation is excellent, and dinks/drops remain predictable. Very comfortable for long sessions.

A favorite for both players
We’ve been CRBN fans since the TruFoam Genesis. The Barrage 1 and 4 shapes suit my partner and me perfectly. There’s impressive power when needed, yet it remains controllable with great off-face feedback and plenty of pop for easier block battles. After testing many paddles, these two stay permanently in our bags.

High-level performance
The Barrage 2 (same family) offers a huge sweet spot and outstanding spin. It brings serious power and pop for aggressive counters but also folds into precise resets when required. Excellent for players who switch between attack and control during points.
