Selkirk Sport Q1 Quiet Pickleball Balls — 12-Pack Outdoor Balls
Product description
Selkirk's Q1 Quiet Pickleball Balls are designed to lower impact sound while preserving the performance expected in competitive play. Each ball is made from injection-molded polyethylene with an engineered wall profile that helps maintain shape and delivers reliable rebound during long rallies. The construction reduces the high-pitched pop of a typical outdoor ball, providing roughly a one-third reduction in audible impact.
These balls carry USAP approval, meaning they meet the size, weight, and consistency standards required for sanctioned tournaments and league play. They are offered in multiple pack sizes so players can test them with a 3-pack, stock a dozen for regular sessions, or buy bulk sets for clubs and facilities.
Q1 balls are intended primarily for outdoor courts: the material and wall optimization resist cracking and deformation during normal use. Because the design concentrates on dampening sound, contact feels slightly softer compared with traditional hard outdoor pickleballs, but flight and spin characteristics remain tuned for familiar play patterns.
Beyond individual players, these balls are marketed as a community-friendly option for HOA boards, parks departments, and facility managers trying to address noise complaints while keeping courts open. They’re a practical alternative where quieter play is needed without moving games indoors.
Pros
- About 34% quieter on impact
- USAP-approved for tournament play
- Durable injection-molded polyethylene construction
Cons
- Softer feel may require slight adjustment
- May perform differently in extreme cold
- Higher initial expectation for ‘silent’ may vary by ear
VerdictThe Q1 Quiet Balls by Selkirk balance lower noise with regulation performance. They’re noticeably softer on contact to absorb sound, yet resilient enough for extended outdoor play. Ideal for communities, facilities, and players who

I don’t perceive much volume change
I didn’t think balls were loud to start and, to my ears, these aren’t much different. I’m autistic and my sensory perception may differ, so take that into account. Otherwise they’re fine: durable, easy to track, and the included small mesh bag is handy for transport.

Quieter play that keeps tournament standards
The reduced pop is useful for early sessions and neighbors. USAP approval means you can use them in sanctioned matches. They hold up through regular play and don’t change speed or spin compared with standard balls — only the sound. A good choice if noise has been an issue.

They truly reduce noise and feel like real outdoor balls
Our community runs many courts and goes through tons of balls. We switched to Selkirk for reliability, so I had to try the quiet version. They look and handle like the standard Selkirk balls but respond a bit livelier with slightly more bounce. Most players noticed the drop in noise immediately and liked them. Overall a big hit with our club.

Noticeable noise reduction with consistent play
These dampen the sharp impact into a softer thud, which is great for early-morning sessions or courts near homes. They keep a steady bounce and true flight for drills and practice without wrecking timing. The ball does feel a touch softer off the paddle, so you may tweak power for a game or two.

About 30% quieter and sturdy
I was skeptical but these surprised me — noticeably quieter than our usual balls, maybe around 30% less noise. Molded polyethylene seems tough and bounce matched what we normally use. I’ll be watching how they fare in colder weather, but so far I’m pleased with the performance.

Great 3-pack — quieter without losing bounce
These felt quieter when bounced beside my regular balls; not dramatic but clear. Bounce matched my expectations and the bright color makes them easy to follow. Packaged nicely and solidly made. As a newcomer to the sport, extra balls are appreciated; I would recommend these.

Quieter and familiar to play with
I hesitated because other quiet balls I’ve tried felt wrong — wrong weight, poor bounce, or thin-walled. These are USAP-approved, so I bought a 3-pack to test. They play like the outdoor balls I expect, not like oversized indoor balls with big holes. Good neighborly option that didn’t force me to relearn my shots.
