3D Touch Auto Bed-Leveling Probe for Ender & CR-10 Printers
Product description
Overview:
This auto-leveling probe uses a Hall-effect detector paired with a driven push-pin to register contact with the heated bed and feed that position back to your printer so the firmware can adjust the Z-axis. Because the probe records Z points across the build platform, it compensates for uneven beds during printing so you can obtain reliable first-layer results even on warped or non-flat surfaces.
Design and compatibility:
The module integrates a compact solenoid/push-pin mechanism and Hall sensor packaged in a translucent PC housing. Its basic operation and external controls mirror common auto bed probes (it uses the same style of RC-servo/micro-switch arrangement), so it will work with the majority of 3D printer control boards and displays, including popular LCD12864 and MKS-style interfaces.
Materials and electricals:
Current: 15 mA (typical)
Peak current: 300 mA
Voltage: 5 V
Shell material: PC (polycarbonate)
Shell color: white translucent
Cable lengths: short ~200 mm, long ~1000 mm
Wiring:
- 3-pin: Green = GND, Red = +5V, Orange = Signal
- 2-pin: Black = GND, White = Z-min
Usage notes and precautions:
Do not yank or force the push-pin; excessive pulling or pushing can damage the probe or reduce its accuracy. When first connecting the module, attach its signal and power wires to the motherboard with the printer powered off. On power-up you may observe the pin cycle — this is normal. Avoid hot-plugging the sensor while the board is powered. After firmware changes, manually trigger the probe to confirm it responds correctly before letting the printer auto-home or probe the bed; this helps prevent accidental crashes into the build plate. Because motherboards vary, consult board-specific wiring and firmware guides if you’re unsure of pinouts or configuration.

Caused firmware and board issues; ended up being defective
I tried to upgrade an Ender 3 V2 and had to crimp wires and flash firmware. The sensor never powered (no LED) and after reflashing the printer stopped booting (black screen). Removing the probe allowed a normal firmware flash. Concluded the unit was faulty and caused board/firmware issues—very frustrating.

Simple install; functioning as expected
My Sovol SV04 wouldn’t home Z properly and this fixed it. It came with connector cables and screws I didn’t need because my existing harness fit. Route the wires neatly after mounting. Performed a bed leveling and everything was fine—open side faces the back.

Reliable and compatible with compact printers
Good build quality and worked with my smaller 3D printer. Seemed accurate and straightforward to use—no issues during setup.

No problems so far in a small print shop
I run multiple machines for a community print shop and bought eight of these to test. Seller accepted returns if faulty, so I tried them. So far they’ve worked as advertised and have kept our printers producing consistently.

Took some setup but now performs excellently
I run Klipper with Mainsail and had to wire it myself, so expect some manual work. After wiring and configuring, it functions nearly perfectly. Some BLTouch commands didn’t match, but homing (G28) worked fine. Good product if wired correctly.

Received a unit that wasn't good
Experienced with printers and wiring, I bought this for a spare Ender 3. It looks like a BLTouch but the one I got had problems so I couldn’t give a positive recommendation. The unit didn’t meet my expectations.

Surprisingly more precise than my CR Touch
Tried this clone in place of my CR Touch and got excellent results. It behaves like a BLTouch clone — I only had to replace a loose DuPont connector and then it worked flawlessly. I found it even more accurate than my official probe.

Not as refined as originals but serviceable
I’ve compared several clones to genuine BLTouch units. Wire colors are close but double-check pinouts and the signal/5V order. Repeatability is a bit looser and some units have minor molding flash or a floppy pin, but they’re usable for everyday "farm" use.
