Designed for use with 2×4 wooden studs, these hidden shelf brackets feature a compact backplate measuring 1.57 × 1.38″ to match the actual 2×4 size (1.5 × 3.5″). The backplate includes three closely spaced mounting holes to line up with narrow studs and provide a secure anchor.

Each bracket is bent to a precise 90° angle and passed through a selection check to help keep shelves level once mounted. That right-angle consistency reduces tilt and helps items sit flat on the board (wood plank not included).

Made from heavy stamped iron about 1/5″ thick, the brackets are formed from a single piece without welds for improved toughness. A pair of brackets is rated to carry up to 160 pounds. The surface is finished with a thick frosted white coating to boost friction with the shelf surface and offer water resistance and rust protection for longer service life.

The kit does not include shelf boards, but it does supply a full set of screws for different mounting situations plus a few spare fasteners. A small spirit level is provided to help line up bracket pairs, and the package contains step-by-step instructions so someone with little experience can complete the job.

Disappointing on Longer Shelves

I expected extra strength from the many screws into the beams. Using 12″ brackets on every stud in a pantry, the front edge of some shelves still sagged, so I added traditional L-brackets for support.
