3-Tier Kitten Cat Enclosure Cage — 24 x 16 x 36 in DIY Catio
Product description
Designed for kittens and other small pets, this three-level wire enclosure measures 24 inches long by 16 inches wide by 36 inches tall and is intended for one or two young animals. The kit includes wire panels, plastic platforms and ramps, a fabric hammock, connectors, door locks, zip-ties and wall-fixation straps with expansion screws so you can secure the unit and reduce tipping.
Construction uses rust-resistant steel wire framing and plastic platform panels. The ramp and platform setup creates climbing routes between the tiers; each polypropylene platform is rated to hold roughly 6 kg (do not use load-bearing layers for heavier animals). The doors are modular and can be positioned during assembly to allow easier feeding, cleaning and interaction.
Assembly is a DIY affair: panels and connectors let you configure the layout and the doors where you prefer. Zip-ties are supplied to reinforce joints, and upgraded connectors plus included door locks help keep the enclosure closed. The hammock is provided free with the set and can be attached to create a sleep spot. For larger adult cats or multi-cat households, consider purchasing a larger model or linking multiple sets to expand floor space and weight capacity.
Pro tips: verify the 24" x 16" footprint before buying to ensure it fits your pet’s needs. Avoid placing heavier cats on the plastic panels that exceed the 6 kg recommendation. Use the wall straps and expansion anchors when there’s any risk of tipping or pushing.

Good starter cage for a growing kitten
Bought it so my kitten stays safe when we're away; she also uses it to climb and lounge. Assembly takes time and is easier with two people. Stairs weren’t often used by my cat. I plan to add another unit later to give her more space.

Solid option for very young kittens
Perfect size for a five-week-old kitten. Sturdy enough for light use and the hammock is a hit. Plenty of room for kitten and mom to rest together.

Protective temporary home while training
Easy to put together and fits well in a small room. I used it while training my young cat — litter on the bottom, food on the middle shelf and a sleeping area on top. It gave me peace of mind when I needed to be out for a few hours.

Challenging to assemble and feels delicate
Pictures-only directions weren’t enough; I needed a video guide. After using all zip-ties the structure still felt borderline. The ladders don’t lock in place well and the hammock can shift—I haven’t put a pet inside yet because of safety concerns.

Not ideal — cramped and awkward access
The interior felt tight even with a small cat. Litter boxes and bowls were hard to fit, and the bowl tipped because of the floor design. The hammock interfered with movement between levels and sagged, making the spot uncomfortable.

Clear instructions, adaptable setup
Assembly instructions were accurate and parts fit. One door was slightly misaligned due to my assembly. I left out the top tier for now and repurposed a ladder into a shelf for safer access. The hammock is being used and the space holds essentials for a very young kitten.

Cats enjoy it but escape is possible
My cats liked the cage and the hammock, and setup was quick. However, their litter box didn't fit well and they managed to get out once despite locked doors. Door quality could be improved but overall it was acceptable for the price.
